I’m not dead…. “Up and Up”
Good news….
After the frankly horrible experience that was the filming of “relax” we learnt our lessons. A much more streamlined process was developed, more attention to the script and ensuring that it was run through many times before it was even cast. Casting the roles went to people who were in our opinion the best people available for the jobs at such short notice, they did a pretty great job of coming in for a 2 hour shoot in a hot stuffy room in summer with business attire on.
Shooting went well with only a few poorly lit scenes being the only major regret from the shoot, however with a one man crew this was practically unavoidable. Our high tech lighting system (a car windscreen reflector) was used as best we can and even though it is a $10 tool it really does make a huge difference in the shots, particularly lighting from under the actors faces to cast some more natural looking shadows. Whilst reviewing the footage on the small LCD screen on the camera the difference between lit and unlit was negligable, however once the footage is viewed on larger monitors the difference becomes greatly apparent. Controlled lighting wins hands down.
